Terms and Conditions

  1. Introduction

    1. Welcome to Scale Pilates (“the Studio”). By booking a class, purchasing a package, or attending any session at the Studio, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before participating.

  2. Booking Policy

    1. All classes and sessions must be pre-booked via our online booking system, app, or directly with the Studio.

    2. Bookings are only confirmed once payment is received (where applicable).

    3. Clients must ensure they book the correct class type, level, and instructor, as the Studio reserves the right to refuse entry to inappropriate class selections.

    4. Spaces are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

  3. Cancellation Policy

    1. Clients may cancel a class booking up to 24 hours before the scheduled class time without penalty.

    2. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the class start time will be considered a Late Cancellation, and the session will be deducted from the client’s package or charged in full.

    3. No-shows will be charged the full class fee or have the session deducted from the package.

  4. Rescheduling Policy

    1. Clients may reschedule their bookings up to 24 hours before the class starts, subject to availability.

    2. Rescheduling within 24 hours is not permitted, and the class will be considered a Late Cancellation.

    3. If you need assistance rescheduling, please contact the Studio directly, though we cannot guarantee late requests can be accommodated.

  5. Packages and Expiry

    1. Class packages (where applicable) are valid for a specified period from the date of purchase.

    2. Expiry dates are strictly enforced, and unused sessions will not be refunded or extended unless explicitly stated by the Studio in writing.

    3. Packages are non-transferable and non-refundable.

  6. Studio Etiquette

    1. Clients are requested to arrive at least 5 minutes before class starts.

    2. Late arrivals may be refused entry to avoid disruption to the class.

    3. Mobile phones must be silenced, and personal belongings should be stored in designated areas.

    4. The Studio reserves the right to refuse entry to anyone deemed unfit to participate or disruptive to the class environment.

  7. Health & Safety

    1. Clients must inform the instructor of any injuries, medical conditions, or pregnancy prior to participating.

    2. Participation in Pilates classes is at the client’s own risk. The Studio is not responsible for any injuries sustained during or after a session.

    3. Clients are advised to seek medical clearance before beginning any new fitness program.

  8. Scale Pilates is committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all clients, particularly during pregnancy.

  9. First Trimester (0-12 Weeks): During the first trimester, special care and considerations apply:

    1. Class Suitability

      1. Participation during the first trimester is at the discretion of the Studio and the instructor. We may recommend avoiding general matwork classes during the first trimester due to the heightened risk of miscarriage during this period.

      2. Clients should seek clearance from their healthcare provider before participating in any Pilates classes during pregnancy.

      3. Clients must inform the instructor and Studio at the time of booking if they are pregnant, even if they are in the early stages.

    2. Participation & Disclosure

      1. General group matwork classes may not be suitable for pregnant clients in the first trimester due to the intensity and certain contraindicated exercises (e.g., deep abdominal work, prone positions).

      2. Clients may be encouraged to join specialised prenatal Pilates classes, if available, or to book private sessions tailored to their needs.

      3. Clients who wish to continue in general classes must sign a Pregnancy Waiver Form, confirming they understand the associated risks.

    3. Modifications

      1. If permitted to attend general matwork classes, instructors will provide appropriate modifications, but it is the client's responsibility to follow them and to avoid any movement that feels uncomfortable.

  10. Postnatal: We welcome postnatal clients back to Pilates, but for safety reasons, certain guidelines apply for clients in the first 12 weeks postpartum:

    1. Clearance to Exercise

      1. Clients must receive medical clearance from their doctor or midwife before resuming Pilates.

      2. Clients must disclose their delivery type (vaginal, C-section) and any birth-related complications to the instructor prior to participating.

    2. Class Suitability

      1. Clients within the first 12 weeks postnatal should attend specialised postnatal Pilates classes, if available, or private sessions tailored to rebuilding core strength and pelvic floor recovery.

      2. General matwork classes may not be suitable for clients within the early postnatal period, particularly if experiencing:

        • Diastasis recti

        • Pelvic floor dysfunction

        • Significant fatigue or discomfort

    3. Personal Responsibility

      1. Postnatal clients are responsible for listening to their bodies and stopping any exercise that feels too intense or uncomfortable.

      2. Clients who experience pain, dizziness, or heavy pelvic pressure should stop immediately and seek medical advice.

  11. Refunds

    1. Refunds are not provided for unused classes, packages, or missed sessions.

    2. Refunds may be issued at the discretion of the Studio in exceptional cases (e.g., medical conditions with supporting documentation).

  12. Changes to Schedule & Classes

    1. The Studio reserves the right to cancel or reschedule classes, change instructors, or make modifications to the timetable without prior notice.

    2. Where possible, clients will be notified of changes via email or the Studio’s booking system.

  13. Personal Belongings

    1. The Studio is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings.

    2. Clients are encouraged to leave valuables at home.

  14. Agreement

    1. By booking and attending any class at or by Scale Pilates, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. The Studio reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. The latest version will always be available on our website and displayed at the Studio.
